A morning inferno has claimed the lives of two children in Umoja Two area, Nairobi.

The Tuesday morning incident happened in the early hours, taking the lives of the two; one aged five and the other 18 months.

According to the neighbours, the mother of the two children had left for the shops to buy milk, leaving water boiling on a stove; something they suspect might have led to the deadly inferno.

The locals helped firefighters put out the fire whose cause is yet to be established, as police say they would investigate.

Bodies of the two have been taken to City Mortuary.
