The Wiper Democratic Movement party has joined the ODM and Jubilee parties in the list of parties from Nyamira that will have difficult times in choosing their respective gubernatorial candidates.
West Mugirango MP James Gesami will wrestle it out with the incumbent John Nyagarama from ODM while former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati will face off with Charles Mochama and William Nyamira for the Jubilee ticket.
And the latest entrance in the race is retired Judge David Onyancha who joined Wiper from the ODM. This now means that favourite Tom Otuto will be subjected to a nomination.
On Sunday, party leader Kalonzo Musyoka welcomed Onyancha to the Wiper and insisted that the party shall conduct free and fair nominations.
‘I am happy that my friend Justice Onyancha has joined our party. I understand he is going for the gubernatorial seat just like my good friend Otuto. This should be viewed as a blessing,” he said.
“There is no need to worry because we shall conduct free and fair nominations. The two are our candidates and I urge them to conduct sober campaigns before the people pick their right choice,” he said.
Both Onyancha and Otutu called for unity in the Wiper party and vowed to work hard to popularise it ahead of the 2017 elections.
