Kisii police commander Martin Kibet argued that the suspect scared traders at the Nyacheki market who reported him to the police.

"According to residents, this was not the first time the suspect was wearing the police uniforms. He has been harassing members of the public every time he wears the uniforms. Traders in Nyacheki notified police who acted swiftly and arrested the man before he could escape," said Kibet.

The commander noted that upon questioning the man, he claimed that the uniforms belong to his deceased sister.

"The man is being locked up as police investigate his claims. We can not allow people to wear police uniforms and harass the public. Residents should know it is illegal to possess or wear police uniforms," he stated.

The commander assured residents of tight security during this festive season and urged the public to cooperate with police officers to deal with criminals.

Kibet reiterated that security patrols have been intensified across the county day and night.
