Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday arrived at the Orange House in a bid to give Imran Okoth, who emerged the winner in the party nominations, a certificate.
Imran Okoth will be the party's candidate for the upcoming Kibra parliamentary by-elections.
"Raila Odinga has arrived at Orange for the presentation of the certificate to the party candidate in the Kibra by-election. He is currently meeting aspirants who took part in the nomination," said ODM.
The leader will also hold a meeting with all other aspirants who contested in the nominations.
The presentation of the certificate will go on even after Peter Orero, a Kibra parliamentary seat aspirant had appealed against Imran's win in the nominations that were carried out on Saturday.
On Monday, Mr Orero met with ODM party's Dispute Resolution Tribunal team.
Details of their meeting have not been revealed.
According to Mr Orero, Imran who won the nominations with 4,382 votes, had an advantage over other aspirants as the register used in the primaries was doctored to favour him.
After the presentation of the certificate, Imran will be the official candidate for the ODM Party in the Kibra by-elections.
He is expected to receive stiff competition from President Uhuru Kenyatta Jubilee Party's candidate, Macdonald Mariga.
The Kibra parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of Kibra MP Ken Okoth, who succumbed to cancer.
The by-elections will be held on November 7, 2019.
