The delegation was led by the institution's infrastructure vice-president Makhtar Diop.

A number of issues were discussed including projects and initiatives that the World Bank is funding on the African continent. Further, the strategies on how to accomplish the development projects already undertaken were also explored.

"Hosted a delegation from @WorldBank led by their Vice President for Infrastructure, @Diop_WB and had an engaging discussion on various projects and initiatives they are funding on the African continent. We also discussed their future plans and strategies to achieve them, " the former Prime minister wrote in a post on Twitter.

The ODM supremo met the delegation in his capacity as the African Union's high representative for development and infrastructure.

Raila Odinga was given the job in 2018 a few months after his dramatic handshake with his former political adversary President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This was made possible by the support of the Kenyan head of state.

“His mandate includes mobilizing further political support from the Member States and the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and facilitating greater ownership by all concerned stakeholders, " Moussa Faki Mahamat said after Raila's appointment in 2018 according to the standard newspaper.
