Former Isukha Central Ward (Kakamega County) MCA, Richard Muchesia killed his wife before shooting himself dead in Rongai, Kajiado County.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director Philip Etale revealed that he knew the former legislator as a reckless man in handling firearm.
Etale accused the politician of living life on the fast lane.
"Ex-Isukha Central MCA Richard Muchesia kills wife and his two kids before killing himself in Ongata Rongai following a domestic quarrel... I personally knew this politician. He lived a high flying life when he was an MCA. He was ever armed but very undisciplined when handling his fire-arm. What he has done is unwarranted and quite unfortunate. Sad," he said.
Detectives have launched investigations into the incident to determine possible reasons for this inhumane act.
Cases of femicides, suicide and homicide have become common in the country as every day, the media reports at least a case where someone is murdered.
Recently, the government noted that many politicians have firearms which are unregistered. However, their names were not revealed even as the government looks to have all those with unregistered firearms registered.
