Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday applauded the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task force for formulating the BBI report.
In a statement on Twitter after the launch of the BBI report at the Bomas of Kenya, Ruto said the content of the report had sparked a discussion that promoted equity among Kenyans.
"We applaud the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task force for coming up with a robust document whose content forms the basis for a national conversation; a conversation where there will be no greater or smaller person, superior or inferior opinion," Ruto posted on Twitter.
He said the BBI team crafted a nice report with good recommendations, that will help end ethnic-based politics, and create a leadership framework that would uphold the law.
"The recommendations inform us on how to build institutions of governance, submit to the rule of law, and rid our country of the politics of ethnicity and personalities to issues that will set pace for the transformation of our country," Ruto said.
He urged Kenyans to be vigilant and watch out for politicians who may take advantage of the recommendations in the report to benefit themselves.
