Appearing before chief magistrate Charles Obulutsa, Alice Nekesa, a mother of two, denied the charges claiming she does not know the accuser, Ann Wanjiku.

“She is my friend and I provided shelter for her after she came in and told me her husband had thrown her out, as a good citizen I decided to shelter her but on July 8, 2016, I came home only to find her gone and my ID card and ATM card missing,“ said Wanjiku.

Nekesa went to an agent where she deposited Sh10,000 claiming Wanjiku was critically ill in the hospital and needed the money urgently.

Chief magistrate Obulutsa said Nekesa should pay a bond of Sh50, 000 as she awaits hearing on July 15, 2016.
