Speaking today in Kisii town, Prof Willie Onkoba has faulted politicians and leaders of Kisii county for politicising the matter thus making it worse rather than solving the issue.

“We should not start blame games on this issue of student unrests. We should concentrate on finding solutions and using intelligence reports to act on the matter,” said Onkoba.

“We don’t want to see an incident like that of Keroka dispute where politicians are seizing the opportunity. We saw what happened on the Keroka dispute. We don’t want to see a repeat of endless cycles that don’t lead to any meaningful solution,” he said.

He urged the leaders to show leadership skills as expected of them.

“We want to see leaders come together to address the issue and find lasting solutions to this otherwise we will be at the losing end and this may take years to catch up," he said.
