Husbands in Kisii have been urged to always accompany their wives to health centres. They were urged to do this so much for their expectant wives.
According to community clinical officer, Kepha King’oina husbands in the area avoid going with their wives during such visits, something he says poses a huge risk in families.
“It is advisable that when expectant mothers are visiting health centres, they are accompanied by their husbands for health purposes,” said King’oina.
He added that this will enable the couple to understand their health statuses well which is good for the family.
‘‘The reason why we insist that the two should be together during the visit is because this will enable the doctor to explain to them the findings after being tested,’’ he added.
King'oina also advised expectant mothers to make sure that their new borns are born in hospitals as on way of avoiding many complications which may occur at homes.
