The Kenya Port Authority (KPA) has asked for a one month negotiation period to sort out its differences with Autoport, a freight company belonging to the family of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
This comes after both parties enjoined in the case requested an out of court settlement to the stalemate that caused a business stir in the whole region.
Addressing journalists in her office on Wednesday, KPA acting manager Catherine Muturi insisted that their is a lot of legal issues that should be ironed out before the company would be allowed to resume its normal functioning.
Autoport freight company was shut down early this year following allegations that it was handling contraband goods including sugar,ethanol and rice.
