The police source said that it already had information that students intend to protest today, Monday, at the Freedom Corner.

"Some students are planning to hold more protests in the city today but we will never allow that to happen. It is illegal," police said on Monday.

The statement further went to warn the public to be vigilant in case the student discard the statement. As an assurance to the public on their safety, anti-riot police officers have already been deployed to said Freedom Corner where Mike Jacob's followers are reportedly planning to converge before moving to other parts city.

Some students clashed with anti-riot police on Saturday demanding for the cancellation of Babu Owino's re-election citing election malpractices marred the exercise. The angry students claim Mike Jacobs won the election but Owino was declared the winner under unclear circumstances.

The students blocked traffic in some major roads in the city over the weekend demonstration as they protested on the outcome of SONU elections the university administration has termed it legal and valid.

University of Nairobi students have in the recent past expressed their dissatisfaction over Owino's leadership when he was linked to acts of goonism in the institution after a video of him harassing Jacobs surfaced.
