Eight terrorist suspects of Somali origin were on Tuesday arraigned in Garissa courts for allegedly being in the country illegally with the intention to commit terrorist related crimes.
The suspicious group, which has been reported to be from Somalia's capital Mogadishu and Hargeisa area were arrested by a specialized police unit in routine patrols at Kobobey.
The eight member gang is further reported to have been on its way to Nairobi's residential area of Eastleigh.
Garissa courts senior resident Magistrate Justice Victor Asiyo directed anti-terrorism police to take at least four out of the eight to a government hospital to ascertain their correct age since they are speculated to be minors under the age of 18.
Thereafter, all the eight will be held in police custody under tight security pending further investigations.
