Kuria West MP Mathias Nyambege has called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to allow renowned blogger Dennis Itumbi to play a video of the alleged assassination plot on Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
Speaking in Migori on Saturday, the legislator contended that playing the video would help blow the cover on the truth.
"We want to say to the DCI, we want to say to the EACC, Itumbi should be allowed to play that video so that we can see it. (Tunataka kusema kwa DCI, tunataka kusema kwa EACC, Itumbi aruhusiwe acheze hiyo video wananchi wote tuiyone), " the outspoken lawmaker said.
His words come amid a raging public debate on the authenticity of the assassination claims.
Itumbi is currently being held in police custody at the Muthaiga Police Station consistent with a court order to allow for investigations.
He was apprehended last week by sleuths from the DCI over links to a fake letter that carried claims of the assassination plot.
DP Ruto allies have thrown their support behind the blogger, branding his arrest a red herring aimed at distracting the public's attention from the alleged assassination plotters.
