The fragile political marriage between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto is now hanging on the balance amid calls for the President to cut the DP to size for allegedly hijacking the government for personal power.
According to former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando, the voting pattern in the Senate last Wednesday during the impeachment of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was a confirmation that the DP has taken the government hostage for selfish political interests.
The former lawmaker claimed that all senators who voted against the removal from office of Waititu had been rigged in during the 2017 Jubilee Party nominations by Dr Ruto.
" As expected, all URP Senators defended Waititu. When we said Ruto had hijacked Jubilee for personal power and graft, we were isolated, fought and hated," the former assistant minister told the Star newspaper.
While asking the President to act to restore order within the ruling party, Kabando said that Uhuru is in-charge of the government and that he should immediately tame the DP.
The pro-BBI politician, who is one of the fiercest defenders of the President and ODM leader Raila Odinga, exuded confidence that Building Bridges Initiative will form the next government.
