Former Makadara parliamentary hopeful Brian Weke has predicted doom for Deputy President William Ruto ahead of his 2022 presidential ambitions.
Speaking on Saturday, Weke foresaw a situation where the DP will be abandoned by some of the Mt Kenya politicians currently in his camp under the team Tangatanga tag.
He named MPs Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) and Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) as fake friends who will with time ditch the DP, though currently deeply involved in Ruto's activities.
He opined that the duo and the remainder of the group will troop back to their tribal cocoons in the instance that Mt Kenya leadership dumps Ruto, a move that will begin in 2021.
"Ikifika 2021, Kimani Ichungwa na Ngunjiri watabadilika wapige about turn. Wataruka hii mtu, saa bado. (In 2021, Kimani Ichungwa and Ngunjiri will turn against him and make an about turn. They will betray this man, wait for the time)," he said.
Weke was speaking on Mazungumzo Waziwazi show, on Radio Jambo, Saturday morning.
Ngunjiri earlier in the year engaged President Uhuru Kenyatta in a verbal exchange after his attempts to have the president reassure Ruto of his endorsement in 2022 flopped.
On the other hand, Ichungwa is among the Mt Kenya delegation that has been pushing Ruto's agenda in Central Kenya
However, Uhuru who doubles up as the Mt Kenya kingpin has been silent on the 2022 succession debate.
