President Uhuru was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris.
He asked MPs present at the function to “introduce and ensure that the tougher laws are passed in Parliament" against gambling.
He also noted that he wont backslid in the government's decision to have some of the betting firm's Paybill numbers suspended.
“The firms should stop threats that they will move to court. The government must get its share to fund activities that are beneficial to this country,” added the head of state as quoted by k24.
This comes in the wake of war between betting firms and the government.
Various betting firms have been banned in the country as their licences have not been renewed due to allegation of tax non-compliance.
