Gamblers have reasons to smile again after giant betting firm SportPesa revealed that they can stake and withdraw their wins amid crackdown from the government.
In a statement released to the media house, the firm, whose pay bill number was blocked a week ago, has said that it is possible not only to bet on your favorite sports but also withdraw the winnings from the comfort of your home.
The bettors have tried to access the service but the Safaricom and other money service providers alerted them to contact the management over the same.
When gamblers who had not withdrawn their earning consulted the firm, they were informed that they can bet and get their earning as usual.
This means that the money which is suspended can be used to place bets on the online betting platforms as the firm seeks to return the game.
“Thanks for reaching out to us. For now, you can only deposit via mobile money which is currently suspended.
"We are still in discussions with the government and relevant stakeholders and are positive that we will be back to full operation soon,” read part of their statement, as quoted by Standard.
