Mr Wandayi said the number of days could be increased to two.

Currently, the protests are held on Mondays.

Wandayi who is the Ugunja MP said the aim is to bring the country to a standstill though demonstrations.

He said the Constitution allows such demonstration noting that the government has failed to honour dialogue over the matter.

“The demonstrations must now go a notch higher. I am going to propose that we do demonstrations on Mondays and Thursdays. The government must listen to us,” he said.

Speaking in Nyando constituency on Friday, Wandayi appealed to the business community in Nairobi to close business and join the demonstrations on Monday.

He said the business community will suffer as a result of the protests and should be in the forefront to ensure the matter is resolved.

Wandayi said lack of stability and peace will affect businesses in the country.

“It is up to the business community to support us. They are the losers whenever we are on the streets,” he said.

Nyando MP Fred Outa appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to dialogue with Opposition leader Raila Odinga to resolve the IEBC stalemate.

Outa said peaceful demonstrations will continue if there is no dialogue.

“As Cord we will not stop demonstrations until that day IEBC vacates office,” he said.
