Kibera residents believe that the Nairobi County government has been favouring some parts when it comes to garbage collection.
Residents of Mashimoni say that the county government has neglected the area when it comes to garbage collection.
"The garbage has been here for the last 2 weeks now. The relevant authority had early promised to collect the garbage but until today, garbage has still not been collected. An immediate action needs to be carried out to save the situation as the rains still seems to increase thus carrying garbage from the dumping site to our premises again, "argued Martha Kamau, a resident.
"I don’t know what the county government is waiting for. The concerned authority knows very well how floods affect us. The collection of garbage was being done on a daily basis how comes now it is two weeks now garbage has been lying there without anyone coming to collect as before?" stated Joshua Masasati, another resident.
The residents have called upon the county government to take action before they begin to fall ill due to the various diseases that they are prone to.
