The government has launched investigations to determine the cause of two police helicopter crashes in August and September this year.
Through a Gazzette notice , Transport Cabinet secretary has appointed Director and Chief Investigator of Aircraft Accidents Martin Lunani to lead the inquiry.
Both crashes left six police officers injured.
The team is tasked with establishing the circumstances both antecedent and proximity , surrounding the accidents and the contributory and mitigating factors that occurred before and after the accidents.
The team is also expected to determine the extent of damage in regards to costs and loss of two helicopters and the extent of compliance with technical as well as operational standards and procedures.
Other members appointed in the team include Lietenant Colonel Charles Mutai, Retired Capatain Wilfred Ngumo, Humphrey Bulimo and Kennedy Ogol.
