He said poor performance in public schools is propelled by lack of enough teachers.

"In Uasin Gishu County, we have a shortage of 1,200 teachers, forcing one teacher to attend to over 60 students" ,he said.

Speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, Bor said teachers are being overworked with their little pay which is un constitutional.

"It is sad that TSC want to only employ 5,000 teachers only and yet the country has shortage of 100,000 teachers, that's a drop in the ocean," he added.

He also urged the National Government through the Ministry of Education to confirm ECDE teachers as TSC employees  since their salary is below average and they do alot to impact knowledge in children.
