Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has said that Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama is a strong pillar in Wiper party.
According to the charismatic parliamentarian, Muthama has the interest of the party at heart and he will not do anything that is likely to jeopardize the party.
Speaking in defense of the Senator, Mbui said that Kalonzo remarks should not be misunderstood.
"There is no doubt Muthama has the interest of the party at heart and certainly he will reflect strongly on what the party leader told him," he said, as quoted by the Standard.
Earlier on, Wiper leader Stephen Musyoka had lashed out at Muthama for bullying other leaders from various corners of the country while alleging that he was campaigning for him.
The former vice president also pointed out that he was fully aware of Muthama and Siaya Senator James Orengo’s plot to have Raila Odinga as Cords’ presidential candidate in the next general elections.
"I am fully aware of what you have been doing behind my back with senator (James) Orengo to predetermine the outcome of Cord's presidential primaries and deny me the ticket.
You must convince Wiper supporters that the ticket you are pushing for can deliver victory for Cord," said Kalonzo at the Sultan Hamud rally.
