Jubilee administration has received a major boost and high chances of winning the next general elections after four West Pokot leaders decamp ODM and KANU respectively for the new formed alliance party JAP.
Receiving the defectors on Friday at Mkutano primary school during the homecoming ceremony of the former Kapenguria member of parliament Julius Murgor, West Pokot MP and the region chairman David Pkosing urged the leaders to join hands and work together with the government since they have benefited much from the current administration unlike the the past governments which ignored them despite being a marginalized group.
"We want to assure you that this region is a Jubilee zone and we are preparing for the next elections to vote overwhelmingly for Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy to ensure they win,' said Pkosing.
Pkosing who is also the Pokot South MP added that the region members who are still working with the opposition are welcome to join and support the government.
"For the past three years, we have been in the government and achieved a lot and that is why we will support Jubilee administration," he added.
"This is a democratic nation and we shouldn't stick to parties that oppress us," he said.
President Kenyatta is expected to visit the area and officially receive the defectors on Saturday.
Those who have decamped their parties for Jubilee include, West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin, Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto, KANU bigwig John Lodinyo and ODM point man Rev. Julius Murgor.
