Senate Majority Leader and Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki is in trouble after his fellow senators accused him of sleeping on his job.
The senators claim that Kindiki has failed to push the legislators at the National Assembly to debate on bills before them in order for the bills to be brought to the Senate.
Led by Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, the legislators claim that over 18 bills are pending at the national assembly yet to be debated before being brought to the Senate.
The senators argue that Kindiki is neglecting his job and he should take responsibility as Senate Majority Leader to push legislators to to debate on the pending bills so that they are brought to the Senate without delay.
Among the pending bills before the National Assembly is the Vetting of Judges and Magistrates - Amendment Bill of 2016 that was brought before the assembly by Samuel Chepkonga on March 21.
Others include, the Panel Code - Amendment Bill 2016, the Supplementary Appropriation Bill, the Witness Protection Bill, and the Hydrologists Amendment Bills 2016.
