The lawmakers refused to approve the ambitious budget while citing glaring discrepancies in the same.

The deadline of passing the budget elapsed on Sunday leaving the county boss in a difficult position to deliver on the promises he made before he was elected into office.

Nyong’o, who succeed Former Governor Jackson Ranguma, is now expected to take into consideration the proposed changes before presenting the budget to the county assembly for approval after suffering the major blow.

The MCAs on Saturday turned up in large numbers and voted against the budget. The lamented about the administration, not incorporation both the opening and closing balance in the budget presented by the executive for approval.

The budget had allocated funds to different projects including roads, markets, health facilities, education and bridges among others.

In an interview with Standard, Speaker Onyango Oloo said that the members have vowed not to endorse a budget full of errors.

He noted that the MCAs have maintained that the county boss must do away with the said discrepancies before the budget sails through the process.

“We have deferred the budget to the Executive and we have asked the clerk to get in touch with the Executive and communicate to them our resolutions, “said Oloo, as quoted by Standard.
