Harambee Stars Striker Michael Ogada Olunga was on target on Saturday as his Kashiwa Reysol side came from a goal down to defeat Tochigi 2-1 in Japanese second division match.

Olunga equalized for Kashiwa in the 17th minute after Daichi Inui had put the home side ahead in the 3rd minute. Striker Christiano (not Christiano Ronaldo) scored the winning goal for Kashiwa in the 47th minute. 

Olunga’s side is now joint top of the Japanese second division league, also known as the J-League 2 with 46 points same as Kyoto which enjoys a superior goal difference.

Kyoto has a goal difference of 13 while Kashiwa has a goal difference of 11. The former Gor Mahia striker has now scored 8 goals this season. 

He is Kashiwa’s top scorer this season, ahead of Brazilian Christiano who has seen the back of the net 7 times after 24 rounds of matches.

The Kenyan striker will be hoping that his scoring form continues as his side continues to hunt for top spot in order to be promoted back to the Japanese top flight league (The J-League) at the end of this season.

His team was relegated last season. Initially, he played for various Clubs among them Thika United, Tusker FC and Girona in Spain.
