The government is committed to ensure Kenya is secure, Inspector General Hilary Mutyambai has said.
Speaking during a visit to Kisumu on Monday, Mutyambai said the National Police Service (NPS) has plans to set up a police station in each of the wards across the country, to ensure every citizens is secure.
He said that the implementation of the proposal is expected to kick off with immediate effect.
The police boss said the setting up of the police stations started during the reign of former IG Joseph Boinnet.
He further noted that the process has already kicked off, adding that he will share full details of the development in a fortnight.
“Soon we will give details on what to do it, in two weeks’ time we will give full details on the implementation of this last phase,” he said, as quoted by Capital FM.
Mutyambai also said the government is ready to put in place different measures at the grassroots to secure the general public.
He divulged that the police intend to work together with the different community policing units to ensure the fight against criminal activities bears fruits at the end of the day.
