Anxiety has gripped the county after the second term county boss delayed revealing his new team as he seeks to complete the projects he had started during his first term in power.

It has emerged that Joho has reached out to Former CECs to resume their duties. It is not yet clear why Joho, also ODM Deputy Leader, has not revealed the names of his Cabinet.

The governor has also not been operating from his office often as he did during the first term in office.

The officials from the county government argue that Joho should have re-appointed the four with immediate effect after their term ended. They believe that there could be no vetting of the CECs had the governor decided to name them.

The term of three of the Chief County Officers (CCOs) is also expected to end this month. Their tenure will expire before the county assembly resumes operations after a long period of recess.

County Assembly Clerk Salim Juma has confirmed that at least five names have been presented for the nominations before the retirement of the board members.

“The County Assembly has not received any nominees for CECs. We only have nominees for positions in the service board, which came during the recess. We hope to vet the nominees after the recess in February,” Juma said.

Residents fear that the operations of the county government could be affected if Joho doesn’t name the Cabinet.
