Speaking in Mavoko on Tuesday, Machakos woman representative Joyce Kamene Kasimbi stated that many families have been left in sorrow not knowing where their children were taken.

She observed that there have been cases of kids being kidnapped while at home or on their way to school and something needed to be done.

"Parents that lost their kids are living with heartache, a dilemma not knowing whether they will see their kids again. What's more, others are finding it hard to let their kids play outside due to the fear that they may be stolen," she said.

The lawmaker observed that if the incidents are not investigated and solved then the cases may blossom.

She urged the police to up their game into hunting for those involved in the syndicate.

"We want to see progress, suspects being arrested and prosecuted and stolen kids being found," she said.

More than six children have been reported missing in Mavoko and Machakos town sub-counties.

A few days ago one suspect was arrested and two kids who had gone missing were found.
