Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Kisii County Youth League team Thursday took to streets of Kisii Town to celebrate the 71st birthday of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The team led by chairman Erick Janganya lit candles and walked on Kisii Town streets chanting pro-Odinga slogans as thousands of town residents stared causing huge traffic along Gusii Stadium road.
The Youth League team through their chair however, took the chance to express their dissatisfaction over alleged insults the party leader has recently been facing from the Jubilee government leaders.
“We want to make it clear that the government is trying to gag the freedom of expression of our party leaders by insulting him every time he reveals the negative things ongoing with the government. We are not happy and its high time they left the opposition leader alone to do his job,” Janganya said.
They took on Majority Leader Adan Duale on his persistent ‘irresponsible’ attacks against Odinga, and warned that Jubilee was substantially losing given the ‘juvenile’ responses they were giving whenever opposition leaders raise queries about various scandals.
“Duale owes ODM family an apology. He is always on the front line throwing irresponsible attacks against our leader. He even leads a team that gives juvenile responses whenever the opposition raises critical queries concerning scandals that involve misappropriation of public money,” he added.
