Auma Obama, the elder step-sister of outgoing President of the United States, Barack Obama, took to her Twitter account to congratulate her brother as he left office.
"What a send off! The time has come. And I get my brother back. But not without mixed feelings- pride for all he achieved, but also sadness that there is still so much left to do..." She stated.
Auma, who has frequently visited the White House when Obama was president and was a bridesmaid at his wedding, expressed her gratitude to all who made Obama excel during his two terms in office.
"Not a single day of 8 years did he let up his commitment to serve his country, and while facing great odds at that," she wrote. "Proud of you from day one!"
Auma was the most noticeable member of Obama's Kenyan side of the family, alongside his grandmother, mama Sarah Obama.
She shot into the limelight after she was carried in the Beast when Obama visited the country in July last year.
She also introduced him when he met young people at Kasarani gymnasium.
