Education CS Fred Matiang'i has said that he won't be intimidated by politicians in executing his mandate in reforming the education sector.
Speaking on Friday when he opened a new administration block at Mwongori Secondary School in Borabu constituency, Matiang'i said he is reforming the education sector for the benefit of both students and parents.
"Sanity in education is all I want and I can't be shaken by politicians promoting their own selfish interests to mislead Kenyans. The President is pleased with what I am doing am sure other Kenyans support our good work too," said Matiang'i.
The minister further asked parents to join hands with the ministry in ensuring their children get quality education by reporting teachers who skip classes to attend to their personal businesses.
"Teachers should be in school, they are employed to teach and not to draw salaries from the government to attend to their own businesses while our students are suffering. Parents assist us to ensure our children get quality education," the minister said.
