The outspoken politician claimed that Wiper Party lost terribly in Machakos because of Muthama.

Speaking to the Standard, Munyao accused Muthama of lack of respect that has led to the revolt within the party.

"A good example is in Machakos County where majority of elected MPs are not Wiper. It is Muthama's lack of respect for democracy which led to a revolt against the party," he said, as quoted by the Standard.

Munyao’s remarks came after Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka made it public that he was aware of Muthama and his Siaya counterpart’s plot to rig him out of the presidential nominations. Kalonzo also blamed Muthama for bullying other politicians from different parts of the nation in the name of campaigning for him.

"I am fully aware of what you have been doing behind my back with Senator (James) Orengo to predetermine the outcome of Cord's presidential primaries and deny me the ticket. You must convince Wiper supporters that the ticket you are pushing for can deliver victory for Cord," said Kalonzo during his tour in Makueni County over the weekend.
