Machakos county government is committed to improving agriculture, governor Mutua has said.

Mutua was speaking at the Machakos show ground where he presided over the official opening of the ASK -South Eastern Show .

Mutua further reinstated that Agricultural shows in Kenya are significant because they are a bridge between farmers and the markets.

He said that the county is ready to transform agricultural practices that lead to value addition and more agri-business opportunities.

Mutua also commisioned a borehole at the venue that will use solar energy to pump water.

He further urged the ASK to  rethink the role of agricultural knowledge, science and technology in achieving equitable development and sustainability.
