Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta for intentionally omitting freedom fighter and Kenya first vice president Jaramogi Oginga Odinga's name from the list of national heroes.
Speaking during an interview on KTN's The Way It Is show, Omar said President Kenyatta's move was an embarrassment to the nation.
Omar faulted Uhuru and those tasked with drafting his speech.
This comes after a section of Kenyans criticized Uhuru for failing to mention leaders such as Oginga Odinga, Raila Odinga and Tom Mboya in his Mashujaa Day speech, as they are national leaders recognized locally and globally.
Kenyans felt the three leaders contributed to the country gaining its independence, thus deserve recognition.
