Worshipers at Kenya Assemblies of God church in Gituamb, Gatundu North will have to seek alternative seats after 50 of their plastic chairs were stolen by thigs on Friday last week.
This is the second time that this church is experiencing theft of church materials after another theft happened two months ago.
The yet to be traced goons broke into the church through the back door and after realizing the church instruments well properly locked, they opted to steal faithful sits.
According to the church pastor, Samuel Gatuura, the gang might be well conversant with the church locations as the theft scene happened without any noise being heard by neighbouring persons.
He said that he reported the matter to Kanjeria police station and police assured the church of concrete, speedy investigations.
Meanwhile, many of the faithful were on Sunday forced to remain standing as there were only seven chairs left which were only allocated to the elderly.
Following the incident, the pastor has warned that the thieves will not end up well if they do not return the church equipment.
“I’m warning the goons to either return the chairs or face the full wrath of God. This is the second burglary we’ve experienced in two months. Police are investigating the matter as we seek means of buying new seats,” he said.
