Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi spent the better part of Thursday evening meeting with grassroot leaders from Nyaribari Masaba when they paid him a courtesy call at his home in Riagongera.

Maangi while addressing the leaders said working together with them will make Kisii great.

"Working as a team will ensure there is accelerated development in Kisii County. Similar meetings will continue happening so that as a Deputy Governor, I can be able to know what our people in villages want to be prioritised in matters development, and tell my boss, Governor James Ongwae," said Maangi.

He urged the leaders to embrace peace and focus on constructive politics. 

Maangi, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto appealed to the leaders not to see him as an enemy because of his closeness to DP Ruto. 

"DP Ruto is my personal friend and people should not see me as a betrayal. I am happy that the country moved one peacefully after the divisive 2017 polls," he added. 

The DG urged the leaders to read the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report and support it because it is meant to boost the lives of the common man.
