His sentiments comes amid escalating unemployment levels in the country which have seen the government struggle to have them in formal sectors.

According to demographics research by KNBS, Kenyan population is made up of 60 per cent youth, with most of them being jobless.

In an interview with NTV on Thursday, Osoro, a youthful MP, blamed the young people of contributing to challenges they are facing.

"It's very hard to engage young people on policy making, the moment you sit with them, the next thing they ask is 'mheshimiwa you can't leave us this way, give us something," he said.

"I speak as a young person who's been in the streets sleeping at Gikomba, sometimes earning 50bob a day and now in parliament," added Mr Osoro.

Jubilee administration has been struggling to deliver promises of creating 500,000 jobs annually. But President Uhuru Kenyatta has often insisted in technical training and informal jobs.

According to Osoro, youth people cherish money given by politicians but do not focus on sustainable activities which are facilitated by government.

His sentiments however caused outrage on social media, with a section of youths accusing him of arrogance and inability to respect them.

"Imagine a youthful MP bashing his fellow hustlers. He's the most insincere legislator. I used to respect him but that is not the case now," said Lameck Otieri.
