A couple was brutally murdered on Thursday night in Ol Kalou, Rurii village in Nyandarua County.
Police officers have now embarked on a probe into the killing of the couple after their bodies were discovered inside a house.
It still remains unclear why the criminals committed the heinous act. The officers discovered the bodies of the couple on Friday afternoon.
Preliminary reports indicate that the bodies had stab wounds as well as deep cuts on different parts. The couple went missing for hours forcing the residents of the house to search for them.
The residents said that the phones of the couple had been switched off for some time. They also said that the bodies were discovered lying in the bedroom.
“Both of their phones had been switched off, prompting us to look for them at their home only to find the body of our colleague lying in his bedroom with deep cuts on the head,” said James Njuguna.
The resident also said that they informed the police after the discovery of the bodies. Nyandarua county commander Boaz Cherotich has confirmed the incident.
He said that the police officers have already kicked probe into the matter.
“We are yet to establish the motive of this killing. We urge anyone who has information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to inform the police,” he said.
