Kibera women have shown their interest in supporting a female presidential candidate in the next general elections.
‘‘Just the other day, we were encouraged by the first lady, Margaret Kenyatta to run for senior positions in leadership. I believe she was right because most of the time we think that women are too weak for some positions. Truth is we are capable as women to do anything,’’ said Janet Awuor, one of the ladies.
‘‘Women should stand out and outshine these men. If Kenya gets a female president, then it means the country will even shine internationally. This means that everything a female president will do will be good since she will have really worked on it because we are perfectionsists,’’ said Agnes Musambai, another lady.
‘‘I believe if all Kenyan women unite and decide to vote for a female president, we can easily make it since the population of women is likely to be slightly above that of men. It, therefore, needs courage and support, I am advocating for a female president,’’ said Pricilla Andanje.
