Ali Korane's bid for the gubernatorial seat received a massive boost on Sunday, after the Marehan community pledged to rally behind him.
This came after the gubernatorial aspirant held a closed door meeting with dignitaries from the community including businessmen, professionals and community leaders at Nomad Palace hotel.
Among the high ranking regional leaders present during the meeting were the immediate former Fafi Member of Parliament Mohamed Ibrahim Duqow and renowned businessman Noor Bare.
A source privy to the meeting highlights disclosed to this writer that matters pertaining to Garissa County politics and building better leadership style topped the day's agenda.
Korane exploited the forum to drum support for himself and the Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, which the community leaders and opinion makers agreed to support their leadership aspirations with numbers and resources.
However, the Marehan community expressed their concerns on the township seat where the Duale family has high stake and run leading businesses.
