Uasin Gishu County government, National Council for People with Disabilities and the League of People Living with Disabilities have donated devices worth Sh40 million to the disabled.
The devices include; elbow crutches, sticks for the blind and bicycles for the crippled.
400 people benefited from the donations.
According to CeC in charge of Education, Enock Muigei, the devices will assist them in their day to day activities.
"We will ensure that the rights of people living with disabilities are not infringed, such as 5 per cent job opportunities and 30 per cent tenders," he said.
Muigei said many social workers had been deployed to the grassroots to do mapping and survey on the needs of the disabled for their needs to be catered for.
"I urge people living disabilities to register with the National Council for People with Disabilities for them to be helped financially," he said.
He further, urged parents not to hide children living with disabilities, since they have rights just like their normal counterparts.
