Led by Kisii County chairman Casper Gichana, they said that some leaders are misusing the youths to further their political interests as the general election beckons.

Gichana said that the incident in which some individuals circulated leaflets of nude photos of Deputy governor Joash Maangi at Ogembo town is against the community and urged the perpetrators to apologise.

The chairman who was accompanied by the association’s Secretary, Charles Lwanga, Asumani Omweno the treasurer and Tamaro Ombasa the advisor, they said it is against the Abagusii culture, norms and traditions to expose one's nakedness hence youths should avoid those misusing them.

“We would like to advise our youths to avoid being misused by politicians, apologise to Maangi to avoid curses. It is immoral to humiliate a leader with impunity,” noted Gichana.

The official challenged individuals who have differences with the leaders to embrace dialogue instead of resorting to using leaflets to soil the image of the leaders as he urged the leaders to forget their political differences, unite and serve the residents.

“We might be having differences but let them not divide us,” said Ombasa.
