Kisii county leaders have been called upon to keep off politics in learning institutions in order for schools to record good performance.
Speaking at a burial in Sameta area on Thursday, ward representative Obwogi Evans said that the performance in many schools had depreciated in the past few years due to the politics that have been invading schools.
Reacting to the latest incident where politicians are financing exams demanding their names to appear on the exam papers Obwogi said it was unethical and it’s high time the ministry of education takes action and finds a solution for the same.
“We want the ministry of education to always take action on all politicians that are taking education matters personally and find a long lasting solution to the problem,” he added.
This barely comes a day after the education CS Fred Matiang’i canceled exams bearing Siaya governor’s photo and another one emerged at South Mugirango Sub-county bearing the name of the sponsor.
