The national government has been challenged to make the NYS empowerment project permanent for the beneficiaries across the country.

Addressing 1300 cohort at Birongo primary school in Nyaribari Chache constituency who had been recruited into the NYS program, the area MP  Richard Tong’i urged the national Government to make the program permanent.

“I would like to thank  the government for the launch of this exercise in my constituency but I would like to ask that this programme should be made be permanent for our youths to benefit more through their savings,” said Tong’i.

In addition, he said that the program will empower youths economically hence advised youths to make use of the money productively

“This program has come so that it can empower our youths hence I advise them to make use of the money in a wise way so that they can develop," said Tong'i.

The NYS empowerment program has so far been implanted in 72 constituencies as the government is looking to make sure that every constituency is benefiting.
