Former CIC chair Charles Nyachae has been accused of allegedly auctioning the Gusii community to Jubilee Party without consulting all leaders from the region.
On Saturday during Jubilee Party launching, Nyachae reportedly said the entire Gusii community had agreed to join the Jubilee Part.
And on Monday, West Mugirango MP James Gesami accused Nyachae of ‘meddling’ in political affairs that he ‘understands’ not.
“Sometimes I fail to understand when some few leaders get compromised with the state, goes to bill hotels and lies to the public that we have agreed to join Jubilee party. It’s unfair to generalise such issues,” he said.
“Gusii region is liberal and we vote leaders based on their deeds. You cannot force people to join a party with poor development recorded. I say no to such political hawkers,” he added.
However, in a telephone call, Nyachae defended his stand saying they had ‘consulted’ a good population before making the announcement.
“We consulted widely and elders blessed out move. Jubilee means well for our people and as a community, we will stand with President Uhuru Kenyatta. He has done a good job in infrastructure and health matters in our region,” he said insisting that the political move was timely.
