Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has maintained that Deputy President William Ruto is a political friend.
Maangi argued that he is not limited to the leaders he should associate with.
"DP Ruto has been my political friend for several years now. I do not see the reason I should not work with him or associate with him. As leaders representing the interests of the electorates we must work together and remain united," he noted on Monday evening when he condoled with the family of late Joel Mochama Ogetii at Riagongera in Bosoti Sengera ward, Bomachoge Chache Constituency.
The Deputy County boss also defended DP Ruto's numerous visits to Gusii region saying he is a national leader who is required to traverse the country.
Maangi who was among top leaders from Gusii region who hosted DP Ruto during the 3rd graduation ceremony at Kisii National Polytechnic last week Thursday said he (DP Ruto) is free to visit Kisii.
"We can't turn any leader away who comes to visit Kisii just because we are of different political parties. Time for dirty politics ended a long time ago," he noted.
