Former Chief of Staff at the Office of the Deputy President Maryanne Kitany now claims that her embattled husband and Meru Senator Mithika Linturi attempted to kill her.
This comes as part of their ongoing divorce case which has seen the lady reveal alot about their said marriage, in her bid to convince the court they were indeed in a married.
In her testimony against the senator in court on Wednesday, she revealed how Linturi allegedly attempted to kill her using a hired lady who was deployed to allegedly poison her.
She claimed that the woman was sent to befriend her in a bid to achieve her boss' intention, but ended up revealing to her that she was set to poison her.
Kitany told the court that she realized that her life was in danger, and reported the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
She went ahead to rubbish the senator's initial claims that they were not married and that she was just a visitor in his home, providing pictures and a video to prove that wrong.
She requested the court to allow her the custody of all the children, citing infidelity and denial of conjugal rights as the reasons behind her filing for a divorce.
"I am still a legal wife to Linturi and I am seeking an order to have the custody of all the children," she told the court, adding that they even attended campaign rallies together.
She has already revealed his she allegedly helped the senator out where was broke, including paying his rent, claiming that they had a traditional wedding.
