Opposition chief Kalonzo Musyoka blamed Jubilee Coalition for the incidences in Kakamega. He said it is a plan to divide CORD ahead of the 2017 polls.

To justify this he claimed he had earlier received reports that police would be used to disrupt the events.

"Jubilee should be ashamed of this. Teargassing a peaceful event as this quite the disrespect of the highest order," he said. "This government is doing all it can to divide CORD because they know they will be defeated in the 2017 elections. This is cowardly," he added.

The event which Kalonzo Musyoka had attended was stopped by police who fired teargas canisters at crowd as well as the main dais.
